Advisory Council for the DOH Website Information Clearinghouse on Developmental Disabilities

The council shall provide technical assistance to the Department of Health in the establishment of the information clearinghouse and give the department the benefit of the council members’ knowledge and experience relating to the needs of patients and families of patients with developmental disabilities and available support services.

Alzheimer's Disease Advisory Committee

The Alzeimer's Disease Advisory Committee advises the Department of Elder Affairs regarding legislative, programmatic, and administrative matters that relate to persons living with Alzheimer’s disease and their caretakers.

Biomedical Research Advisory Council (BRAC)

The James and Esther King Biomedical Research Program works within the Department of Health to provided a perpetual annual source of funding for research in the areas of tobacco-related cancer, cardiovascular disease, stroke, and pulmonary disease. The goal of the program is to improve Florida’s biomedical knowledge base relating to these health issues, and to stimulate economic development in biomedical development.

Citizens Property Insurance Corporation Board of Governors

Constitution Revision Commission

The Constitution Revision Commission, established in the Florida Constitution in 1968, has the authority to propose to voters a revision of all or any part of the Constitution. The Commission must meet every 20 years.

The Council on the Social Status of Black Men and Boys studies adverse societal conditions effecting black males including homicide rates, arrest and incarceration rates, poverty, drug abuse, death rates, school performance, and health issues and propose measures to correct the underlying causes of these issues.

Criminal Punishment Code Task Force

The Criminal Punishment Code Task Force is created for the purpose of reviewing, evaluating, and making recommendations regarding sentencing for and ranking of noncapital felony offenses under the Criminal Punishment Code.

Department of Elderly Affairs Advisory Council

Florida Center for Brain Tumor Research Scientific Advisory Council

The Florida Center for Brain Tumor Research Scientific Advisory Council advises a coordinated research effort to treat and cure cancerous and non-cancerous brain tumors. The Council works with The Evelyn F. and William L. McKnight Institute of the University of Florida who collaborate with other brain cancer research institutions in a unified effort to cure brain tumors.

Florida Elections Commission

Florida is for Veterans, Inc. is a non-profit corporation created by the State of Florida to help veterans fully transition to civilian life in the Sunshine State. They connect veterans to employers, grant funds to employers to hire and train veterans, and educate veterans on how to open their own businesses in the Florida.

Florida Small Business Development Center Network Advisory Board

The network is the principal business assistance organization for small businesses in the state. Museum of Florida History’s Ad-Hoc Committee - The Great Floridians Program

The Museum of Florida History’s Ad-Hoc Committee Great Floridians Program is responsible for meeting at least twice a year to select nominees to receive a Great Floridian designation. Great Floridians are present or former citizens of the state, either living or deceased, who have made major contributions to the development of the nation or state. Nominations made by the committee are passed on to the Secretary of State who chooses the recipient of the designation.

SCRIPPS Florida Funding Corporation Board of Directors

The SCRIPPS Florida Funding Corporation Board of Directors oversees legislative appropriations made to the SCRIPPS biomedical research institute and campus. It also ensures that SCRIPPS upholds its contractual obligations to the state in exchange for these funds.

Small Business Air Pollution Compliance Advisory Panel (CAP)

The CAP renders advice on the effectiveness of the Small Business Environmental Assistance Program and the difficulties encountered by small business. They review information for stationary air pollution sources to assure the information is understandable to the small business community.

The council shall provide three to five names to the Governor as recommendations for the Military Family Education Liaison.

State Research University Institute for Online Learning Advisory Board

This advisory board shall support the development of high quality, fully online baccalaureate degree programs at the University of Florida; offer expert advice, as requested by the university, in the development and implementation of a business plan to expand the offering of those degree programs; make recommendation to the Board of Governors regarding the university’s comprehensive plan to expand the degree program offerings; monitor, evaluate, and report on the implementation of the plan to the Board of Governors, House, Senate, and Governor.

Taxation and Budget Reform Commission

The Taxation and Budget Reform Commission, established by the Florida Constitution, convenes once every twenty years and is broadly charged with examining the state planning and budget processes, state and local government revenue needs, expenditure processes of the state, the appropriateness of the state tax structure and governmental productivity and efficiency.

Tobacco Education and Use Prevention Advisory Council

The Tobacco Education and Use Prevention Advisory Council advises and reviews a statewide program aimed at reducing the prevalence of tobacco usage among youth, adults, and pregnant women. The program includes the funding of educational marketing campaigns, community and youth programs, as well as counseling and referral services to those struggling with tobacco use related habits or diseases.

Triumph Gulf Coast, Inc. Board of Directors

The corporation is created within the Department of Economic Opportunity to administer the Recovery Fund for the benefit of disproportionately affected counties that experienced economic damage from the Deepwater Horizon disaster. The corporation monitors, reviews, and evaluates awardees and related projects or programs created under the Gulf Coast Economic Corridor Act. The board of directors shall review the Recovery Fund, establish and review priorities for economic recovery in disproportionately affected counties, and determine use of the earnings available.
